MQA Hurricane Tips

The Division of Medical Quality Assurance (MQA) would like to make the following recommendations to health professionals whose areas may be impacted by hurricanes or tropical systems this year:

Ensure that records are secure and protected from potential wind and water damage

Inform patients about how to contact their regular health care provider or another health professional if they need prescription drugs during or after the storm has passed

Consider prescribing an extra 30 days of medication for patients
