The FMA E-News is emailed to all members of the Florida Medical
Association semimonthly. The FMA, located in Tallahassee, Fla.,
serves as an advocate for physicians and their patients to promote the
public health, to ensure high standards in medical education and ethics, and
to enhance the quality and availability of health care.

2007 Medicaid Fee Schedules |
The 2007 Medicaid fee schedules are available online at
http://floridamedicaid.acs-inc.com. Click on "Provider
Support," then "Fees" to download a copy. Otherwise, please
call the Medicaid fiscal agent's provider enrollment line at
800.377.8216.

Florida law requires the Department of Health (DOH) to make
Florida-licensed physician profiles available to the public
via the Internet. Physicians are required to keep their
profiles current. Section 456.042, Florida Statutes, states,
"A practitioner must submit updates of required information
within 15 days after the final activity that renders such
information a fact."
If your email address is current with the Department, follow
these easy steps to obtain your user id and password:
1. Go to
http://ww2.doh.state.fl.us/mqaservices/PractitionerServices.asp
2. Click on "Update My Profile" listed under Licensee
Services
3. Select "forgot/user id and password"
4. Select your profession and input your license number
5. Click "Process"
6. Select your current email address
7. Click "Process" and your user identification and password
will be emailed to the selected email address.
If DOH does not have your current email address, please
email the Department at
Licensure_Services@doh.state.fl.us or call 850.488.0595.
Please provide your first and last name, the last four
digits of your social security number, profession and
license number for verification purposes.

to download a copy of the "Practitioner's Guide to
Completing and Updating the Profile" released by the
Department of Health. This guide provides information to
health care practitioners on what information is reported by
the practitioner and/or other sources, what information is
verified by MQA, and whether the information is optional or
mandatory. The guide also provides instruction on how to
complete and update the practitioner profile.

Jupiter, FL received a three-year appointment as Cancer
Liaison Physician at Jupiter Medical Center.

Florida Statewide Advocacy Council Seeks Volunteers |
|
The Florida Statewide Advocacy Council (SAC) is seeking
volunteers to serve on local advocacy councils throughout
Florida. Volunteers are appointed by the Governor to act as
a third party to protect the human rights of clients of any
program or facility operated, funded, regulated, licensed or
administered by a state agency. The local advocacy councils
have vacancies for people with a variety of backgrounds
including medical professionals as designated by F.S.
Section 402.164, et. seq.
Volunteers meet monthly and are provided training,
mentoring, mileage reimbursement and staff assistance.
