Get Your Required CME Through
the FMA
Physicians are
required to complete 40 credits (hours) every two years including two (2)
credits in Prevention of Medical Errors. In addition, MDs must complete two (2)
credits in Domestic Violence every third biennium or every six (6) years. Thus,
physicians who renew every even year (like 2008) will not have to complete the
Domestic Violence credit until at least January 31, 2012. The 1-credit HIV/AIDS
requirement has been eliminated for all but first time renewers.

Broward County Medical Association Alliance Honors Child Advocates
Congratulations to
the Broward County Medical Association Alliance (BCMAA). At a recent luncheon,
the BCMAA recognized individuals who have made significant contributions to
enhancing the quality of life of Florida's children. They raised over $5,000.00
for Florida Children First, a non-profit, non-partisan organization whose
mission is to achieve significant improvements in all systems affecting
children's lives.
On September 14, 2007, the BCMAA requested and received a $500 grant from the
FMA Alliance Foundation's Ariel Goldman Memorial fund for Florida's Children
First.
