The Florida 2006 Legislative Session is well underway and medical students from across the state are playing an active role. Whether participating in the legislative visits program or lobbying to their local representatives and senators, FMA medical students are standing up for their patients and profession. You can be involved as well! Here are some upcoming meetings:

FMA Days at the Capital – Student Meeting	April 7, 2006 3:00 - 5:00 pm FMA Adams Lg Conf Rm Tallahassee, FL
FMA Annual Meeting & Florida Medical Expo	Aug. 31 - Sept. 3, 2006 Gaylord Palms Orlando, FL

Interested in taking a leadership role in the FMA-MSS? Ask your chapter or state officers about running or applying for these positions:

FMA-MSS Governing Council – Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, Secretary (Elected at the FMA Annual meeting)
Student Delegates to FMA Committees and Councils
(Nomination deadline Sept. 2, 2006)
FMA-MSS Representatives – two per medical school
(Elected on the medical school level)
Student Delegate and Alternate Delegate to the FMA House of Delegates (Elected on the medical school level)
